Pedalcover Insurance has announced its sponsorship of Velothon Wales, the biggest cycling event ever seen in Wales.
The cycling insurance brand has signed a three year agreement to become the official bike insurance partner of the mass participation event, which takes place on 14th June 2015.
Starting and finishing in the heart of Cardiff city centre, general entry places for the closed road sportive sold out within six weeks, with the remaining spaces now available through the event’s official charities.
With a capacity of up to 15,000 cyclists, riders will take on the very same course as some of the world’s best pro teams in the UCI classified 1.1 professional road race.
Pedalcover Insurance was launched in 2014 by former pro-am cyclist Darren Thomas.
The Vale of Glamorgan based business, which is also backed by 2004 Paris-Roubaix champion and Tour De France stage winner Magnus Backstedt, provides protection for bikes and cycle accessories under a single home insurance policy.
Replacing the need to take out separate bike insurance, Pedalcover Insurance provides cover during training, leisure and competition time, at home and abroad.
With 536,000 bikes stolen every year in the UK, Pedalcover will work with Velothon Wales to ensure participants have adequate insurance cover.
