At Long last, we are excited to announce that Pedalcover have agreed a three year partnership with Long course Weekend (LCW), Wales. In a first for LCW, Pedalcover will be powering the Wales Sportive. The Pedalcover team will be on hand for all 4 days of this year’s event, located at the new Pedal Cover Community Bike Park. This complimentary, purpose-built area will be available for members of the public, supporters and athletes to leave their bikes safely and securely whilst exploring the Athlete Village and taking in the world famous LCW atmosphere.
The event has been re-branded as The Wales Sportive “Powered By” Pedal Cover, which will also see us engaging in the Long Course Legacy programme, which has been providing vital assistance to local sporting, community and educational groups in the past few years.
What is Long Course Weekend?
Long Course Weekend Wales is now one of the biggest multisport events in the Northern hemisphere, televised in over 100 countries and attracting 12,000 athletes and 30,000 spectators during the 3-day festival weekend. The Long Course Weekend brand is now established in Australia, New Zealand, Mallorca, Holland and Belgium with brand new and exclusive host countries to be announced shortly.
LCW Wales will take place from 30th June – 2nd July 2023 with a brand-new finish line and Athlete Village for the first time in the events 12-year history. The Wales Sportive “Powered By” Pedal Cover takes place on Saturday 1st July and will see thousands of cyclists, of all abilities, taking on the formidable 40, 70 and 112-mile National Park courses.
CEO of Long Course Weekend Matthew Evans was full of praise for the new partnership:
