A sportive is a great opportunity for cyclists to take part in a fun and challenging group ride, within a safe and organised course.
We’re delighted to announce that our first sportive will take place on 7th March in conjunction with Café Velo.
The sportive will begin at the coffee shop in Llantwit Major with it also doubling as event headquarters/sign on. It offers a challenging 74km route along parts of the beautiful Welsh coast to get your pedals moving, with free coffee and cake, courtesy of our partner Café Velo, at the finish line. If cake doesn’t fit in with your dietary plan, there will also be a quality goodie bag on offer.
Café Velo’s David Bees said: “We are pleased to be working alongside Pedalcover to bring this spring sportive to the cycling community. Café Velo is a coffee shop for the cyclist, we hold numerous cycling events over the course of the year and we look forward to adding the spring sportive to the list.”
Pedalcover’s Darren Thomas said: “We are extremely excited about our first sportive with Café Velo. A sportive is a great opportunity for cyclists to take part in a fun and challenging group ride, within a safe and organised course.”
Participating in a sportive is a great introduction to group cycling, with the opportunity to discover new cycle routes and befriend like-minded riders.
The event is designed for the entry level sportive rider looking for their first challenge. Under 18s are permitted to take part in the event, provided that a parental consent form is received prior to the event and the child has an adult rider with them at all times.
